Stewarded by Common Ground Farm since 2017, the market plays a critical role in food access for surrounding neighborhoods while providing a welcoming, inclusive community space for gathering in one of the Hudson Valley’s most beautiful cities.
The Market and vendors accept SNAP/EBT, WIC/FMNP and Fresh Connect Checks, as well as the popular Greens4Greens benefit matching program, making fresh produce and high quality local food available to food insecure individuals. And all of that money goes directly to farmers and food producers.
The Market partners with Downing Park Urban Farm on an after-market food donation program to ensure that unsold produce can be made into healthy meals for food insecure residents.
Common Ground Farm partners with the Ogden Foundation, Newburgh Farm and Food Initiative, Safe Harbors of the Hudson, and other urban development and agricultural non profits in Newburgh and Orange County to make the Newburgh Farmers’ Market possible.
